Terrain’s managing director Andreas Dressler moderated a workshop at the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) Spring 2014 Professional Forum, held in Pinehurst, North Carolina from April 27 to 30, 2014. IAMC is the leading association of industrial corporate real estate executives, their suppliers and service providers, as well as economic developers from the US and other countries. Members of IAMC include senior real estate directors from leading companies such as 3M, Alcoa, Air Products and Chemicals, BASF, PepsiCo, General Mills, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals Group, The Linde Group, Pfizer, Weyerhaeuser and many other large industrial firms.

The objective of the workshop, entitled “Mastering FDI”, was to provide participants with an overview of recent trends in foreign direct investment (FDI) as well as valuable knowledge and skills to apply in their roles. This includes information for corporate real estate executives on how to approach corporate location projects in specific parts of the world as well as insight for economic developers into how to better work with and support foreign investors. The workshop took the form of a moderated panel discussion. Participants in the discussion included senior real estate executives of Kohler and Robert Bosch as well as economic developers from North Carolina and California.
